Situated in Illogan is the former manor house, estate and parkland known as Tehidy Country Park, now owned and managed by Cornwall County Council. There is a wealth of history surrounding this former seat of the Basset family.
We love spending time here whatever the weather. It is a lovely family friendly attraction for all ages. Whether you are visiting to make use of one of many outdoor facilities on offer or just out for an afternoon stroll there is much to see and do here. Walking through lush woodland made up of trees such as ash, sycamore, Japanese maple and chestnut, you’ll discover many more as you meander along the pathways and through the parkland.
Accompanied by a plethora of woodland plants, dependent on the season, visitors can revel in the delight offered by the vibrant carpet of glorious bluebells. Enjoy soaking up the aroma from the wild garlic, exploring the range of native ferns and making a game of finding the many varieties of rhododendrons. Keep an eye out for wildlife inhabitants such as swans, geese, rooks and grey squirrels. You might even catch sight of some otters and badgers!
There are three main entrances to the park, each offering free parking. Entry is also free. The South Drive entrance has an on-site café and toilet facilities.
